I am not a computer savvy also, I don't have a clips store and doubt I would ever have.

Still, I think the best choice for you would be to contact the clips stores' help and support team.

Anyway, I believe you can upload any type any size any format you want, but you have to take in consideration if users have unlimited cheap fast Internet connections or limited expensive slow ones (like mine per example).
Too large files are the best quality, but if we are stuck with poor connections, we might not be able to buy them because their download would kill us.
In my opinion, a Hi-Rez without being too huge, 640 X 480 pixels, 1 Mbps Bit Rate, 30 fps, nearly 10 MB/1 minute, WMV, would be ideal, again, just my opinion.

I doubt there are any procedures in the clips' sites for compression, you edit your clips and then upload them.

You might offer another Low-Rez version of each clip for dial-up users if you want.

What Operating System do you use? Is it "Mac" or "Windows" or what?

I have "Windows XP", I can play so many formats in it (WMV, MOV, MPG, MP4, AVI, RM......etc.), I think in "Mac OS", they use MOV more, still, others (I am sure about WMV) formats could work in a way or another.

I also have some conversion and editing programs that might help you, I mentioned about them in few posts but no one seemed to need them, still, if interested, you can ask me and we could either continue discussions here or via private messages.
