My favourite movie scene ever is...

This is an easy one for me. Although not my favourite film, True Romance contains a scene that for me, captures the true essense of what a great scene should be. The intesity, the lighting and the score all combine to make something that really is, greater than the sum of its parts.

The Walken/Hopper scene from True Romance

So which film scene is pure movie magic for you?

I love that movie. Christopher Walken did an outstanding job in that scene. One of my favorite scenes comes from the Oliver Stone movie Talk Radio back in 1988. Eric Bogosian gave his all in that film. In fact, I've never seen another performance from him that was even half as good as the one in Talk Radio. This is the scene near the end of the film where his character, Barry Champlain is finally pushed over the edge by the hatemongers who call into his radio show every night :

For me, The Godfather 3 Ending is the most Memorable.
Where Michael's Daughter gets Killed, he Loses his Mind and Dies Alone. Amazing Acting from Al Pacino on the Stairs.

This is one of my favorite films, which in turn has a lot of scenes that have become my favs. Props to Proyas for creating an ethereal, brooding atmosphere not sinceduplicated. Like Fincher, Proyas should make more films.

Here is this gem of a scene, the final battle no less. Top Dollar's Last Stand.......

I like that scene in Casino where Nicky Santoro and his brother get the shit beat out of them with baseball bats and then buried alive. That was awesome.

Wow, some real classics in here! Falling Down was a very underrated picture in my opinion. It had some very memorable scenes in it, as did Shaft and Blazing Saddles. Good stuff. Here's another one of my favorites:

Another one I love is the shootout scene in "Desperado." See, the thing about Antonio Banderas is that he has a hard time cursing in English. It always comes out sounding like "FACK!!! CHIT!!! FACK!!!!"

Like when he breaks the last guys neck? I can't tell if he's saying "fuck you" or "fuck yeah." All you hear is, *snap* "FACK YEH!!!!!" image

My favorite movie scene (if I had to guess) comes from my favorite movie of all time - Days of Thunder. It's the part where Cole is coming up on the big wreck in the Daytona 500, and he slows down at first. The whole race up to this point, it seemed like he had lost his confidence, but here he summons the courage to speed through the thick smoke, drive around the wrecks, and make his way to the front to confront the antagonist, Russ Wheeler. Then the climax of the movie comes, the end. I'd have posted "spoilers", but hey - the movie came out 20 years ago.

Okay not one to bump my own threads (well it was only a few down anyway) but I HAD to post this - not so much a scene more of a collection of scenes from my favourite film - a film where every single scene is a classic.
Many of you wont be familiar with this film as it's German - but a real classic. Put's Hitchcock to shame and makes Henry: portrait of...look like a walk in the park. And the best bit - there's very little gratuatous violence, yet it is without a doubt the most frightenningly real and horrific film I have ever watched.

Actually, can I have two? The scene in No Country for Old Men, when Anton Sigur is calmly threatening the shopkeeper, and decides whether or not to spare his life on the throw of a coin. Talk about tense...!

oh my god.

I saw the question , and thought - " right, first thing im going to do is tell the guy - great question here , thanks for posting it " and then I was getting ready to give M YFAVOURITE movie scene of all time, well its the most memeroable one to date.

and sure enough, much to my SURPRISE - smashTV has chosen it LOL

"I'm the Anti-Christ. You get me in a vendetta kind of mood, you'll tell the angels in heaven that you had never seen evil so singularly personified as you did in the face of the man who killed you."

ppl who can't tolerate real cinema found that scene disturbing because of the whole 'egg plant' b/s. Intelligent folk realised it was just a movie nonthing more.

the scene was , as ive called it time and time again - 'cinematic art' , or a cinematic masterpiece.

50 years from now, 100 even....they will always look back at taht scene in true romance.

a real cheesefest of a movie that - 1993. LOLs @ the chaotic ending XD
